Clinical Trials
Semafore initiated a Phase 1 trial studying SF1126 in patients with solid tumors in 2007. The trial is being conducted at 2 sites in the US (Arizona Cancer Center and Indiana University Cancer Center).
The initial focus of this trial is to establish a safe dose and dosing regimen with SF1126 and to evaluate anti-tumor activity. The main treatment focus of SF1126 in this trial is to treat patients with known altered activity in the phosphoinositol signal transduction pathway (e.g., prostate cancer, ovarian cancer, endometrial cancer, renal cell cancer, colorectal cancer, gastrointestinal stromal cancer).
Patients may be selected by their PI3 kinase pathway status at later stages of the development program.
An additional Phase 1 trial in multiple myeloma patients was initiated in late 2007 at Emory University. This trial will be expanded in 2008 to 3 different sites in the US and Canada. The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) has provided a grant to fund this Phase 1 study.
